Tim Smith | Executive Officer

With over 50 years in the construction industry, Tim began his career as an electrician, eventually moving into project management before founding GSS as a general contractor in 1984. Having built projects ranging from a few million dollars to those in excess of 150+ million dollars his experience spans all phases, types and modes of construction; specializing in industrial and manufacturing builds. Additionally, Tim’s extensive expertise in real estate development and land acquisition has been pivotal in helping clients meet complex project requirements.

Max Smith | Operations Officer

Max brings over a decade of experience in operations and management, supported by a strong background in finance and technology. Before joining GSS, he worked at a top AM Law 100 firm in addition to various software development roles in an array of sectors, from non-profits to general contracting. With a B.S. in Communications from Arizona State University and an ongoing master’s in finance, Max is a proven operations’ professional focusing on finance, compliance & data-driven workflows; helping clients increase project efficiency & efficacy.

Duncan McTavish | Engineering Officer

Duncan is a seasoned civil engineer with more than 40 years in construction and project consulting, having held key roles at Matthews Contracting, Ernst & Young, and Ethagem inc. He holds both a Bachelor of Engineering Science and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Duncan is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and is known for his precision and technical insight on complex and large-scale projects.

Adam Tassart | Project Management Officer

Adam has 7 years of commercial construction experience, with a focus on project management, complex estimation, safety, and site supervision. His professional path also includes roles in retail management and insurance underwriting. A graduate of Robert Morris University with a BBA, Adam brings strong leadership, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every project. He is currently enhancing his credentials working towards PMP certification.
